Ocean View Genetics
As one chapter in Ocean View history comes to a close…a new chapter begins. With the announcement of the Ocean View Dispersal in California comes the opening of a new chapter called Ocean View Genetics owned by Daryl & Pam Nunes. The page began to turn in the fall of 2010 when Daryl & Pam moved three semi loads of cattle 2,100 miles from the Sonoma County wine country in California to the heart of America’s Dairyland in Wisconsin. With dwindling opportunities for marketing in California, the couple saw their future a little farther east in Wisconsin where Pam grew up. So the hard decision was made to move the part of the herd they had been building and relocate them to a more central location. The cows currently reside on Pam’s original home farm in Deerfield, Wisconsin. The 38 tie stalls are a far cry from the 350 freestalls in California, but this new location allows the ability to focus on the highest quality with a smaller number of cattle and opens new marketing avenues. So as the chapter closes on one legacy in California…the story continues with the next generation of excellence from years of proven foundations…that’s what sets the standard at Ocean View Genetics. We invite you to check out our cyber home and contact us any time your are in Wisconsin – we’d be happy to show you the real thing!
